Who Is Eligible to Play in the Recreational Division on Monday and Tuesday?
Player Eligibility for Recreational Division on Monday and Tuesday

We have player eligibility rules for each division. We have a recreational division that plays on Monday and Tuesday and a competitive division that plays on Wednesday and Thursday. If you play in Premier or First Division in ASL or Premier Division in AWSL, you don’t register in the recreational division. If you are a college soccer player home for the summer, you don’t register in the recreational division. This is not negotiable. We don’t care how nice you are and how much your team wants you to play. We have previously had an incredible sandbagging problem that basically ruined the games for people whose skills are truly at the lower end of the scale and this is how we have fixed it.    We offer play for people who are skilled soccer players to play against each other and a lot of the behavioral problems we encounter each season come about directly from the fact that the talents of the people on the field are too diverse. If you manage to sneak someone in and we catch you, we get rid of your team. Period. We will make every attempt to secure enough fields from the city to accommodate people who want to play on Monday and Tuesday in a competitive division. However, those fields come after we’ve accommodated the legitimate recreational division teams. We should know by mid-April what fields we can use so you can adjust your plans accordingly. We will also discover an amazing number of will not have read this paragraph.   Also, as a new feature this year, we’ll tell you up front that being a League officer of ASL or AWSL doesn’t invalidate this rule. Please do not call and tell Ann you have to talk to Mike and Billy about a player because we just don’t understand. We do the mediation between teams because of the violent incidents that arise due to players sandbagging. We understand very clearly and that’s why we made this change.
