Complete ASL Constitution, By-Laws, Rules and Regulations have been provided to Coed Team Representatives. They are also posted on our web page at www.aslsoccer.com, It is your team’s responsibility to know those documents. Ignorance is no excuse, hard as you may try and convincing as your general case may be.
Slide tackling is dangerous play. It is to be punished by the awarding of an indirect kick. If the referee, for whatever reason, is not calling this, it is your responsibility as literate adults to inform the players engaging in this behavior to stop, including your teammates.
Punishment for misconduct:
· A player who receives two cautions incurs a $ 10 fine
· A player who incurs three cautions is suspended one game and incurs an additional $ 10 fine
· A player who incurs a fourth caution is suspended for the remainder of the season and incurs a $ 25 fine
· A player who is sent off for violent conduct is suspended 4 games and fined $ 50
· A player sent off for serious foul play is suspended 4 games and fined $ 50 (except for handling the ball to deny a goal scoring opportunity)
· A player who is sent off for any other reason is suspended two games and fined $ 10.
A player who accumulates 25 penalty points through any combination of cautions and send off is suspended for the remainder of the season. Team representatives have been provided a copy of the ASL Penalty Point System. Any player who receives a red card for serious foul play, violent conduct, or referee abuse must post a $50 bond, per red card, to play the next summer coed season. Get a red card while playing under the bond and you forfeit the bond and are suspended for a year. Get this message: If you engage in violent conduct, serious foul play, or curse at the referee, your teammates, or your opponents, you are not the type of person we are interested in serving with coed soccer and we intend to get rid of you. This is for fun. If you can’t have fun, get lost.
A team who uses an unregistered player, or allows a player to use someone’s passcard other than their own, will be suspended from play in total. Players who do not know their own name should return to school for remedial lessons. Playing an illegal player requires the implied consent of all participants in a game. If you don’t speak up, you’re as guilty as the people who hatched the scheme. When you’re suspended, your money is gone.
If your team forfeits a game, your team is fined the game fee. Half of the fine is paid to the team to whom you forfeited because they paid for a game that they didn’t get.
