Albuquerque Soccer League Fall 2011 Wednesday Coed League

We are set up to continue using the newly lighted fields at the Farmer’s Soccer Complex in Bernalillo. We will offer an open coed soccer division on Wednesday evenings starting on Wednesday, August 31, and play an 8 game season, finishing on Wednesday, October 19. It should be adequately cold by then that you’ll be ready to stay home at night or go play indoor soccer.  Also, we do not postpone or reschedule games.  Your team needs to be ready to play per the schedule. 

Please note: neither of these competitions have anything whatsoever to do with Sunday competitions unless you get yourself suspended from the league for violent behavior. Then the league executive committee will bring them together. We’re not moving any coed play from Sunday to Wednesday night in spite of what all you little scamps talk to each other about at your games. They are completely separate.

One change from the spring season.  Based on the shortage of weeknight referees courtesy of high school and college soccer, we are only going to schedule a center referee only.  Thus, we have reduced the referee fee accordingly, which is why we have reduce the player fee from $65 to $50.  We advised the spring teams of this and at least the ones who bothered to respond were OK with it.  Therefore, your e-mails complaining about your perfectly executed offside trap not being recognized will go into the Delete folder.  If this is determined after the season to be unsatisfactory, we can go back to the 3 man system and higher fees.

If you have not had a team in the league before, please go to the folder titled Fall 2011 Team and Player Registration Instructions and read the article as well as the team and player registration information. For the most part, it will apply to weeknight divisions as well with these exceptions:

·         No $150 referee bond. That only applies to Sunday leagues.

·         You do need numbered uniforms of the same color and every number must be different. Numbers must be professionally applied, not with a Sharpie or magic marker. 

You need to fill out the online team application and you need to go through the new team link on the front page of the web site. If you have an ASL team already, please do NOT do the application through your team folder. The $50 application fee is applied to your registration fees unless you don’t register a team and then it is forfeit.

1.      A player currently registered for the fall 2011 ASL or AWSL Sunday competition pays $50.

   A player who is not registered for the fall 2011 ASL or AWSL Sunday competition pays $70. The difference reflects the fact that every player must pay a $20 fee once a year for their USSF player registration and accident and liability insurance coverage. If you have registered to play on Sunday, you have paid your $20 fee there and do not have to pay until next fall. If you have not, you pay for this competition and then do not need to pay the $20 again if you register for the spring Sunday or weeknight league.3.      

All the information about the league, including playing rules, suspensions for misbehavior, day of game procedures, are included in the folder titled Team Representative Notebook. Wednesday night games will follow the same rules and procedures. You must have a player passcard specifically for your Wednesday team. You cannot use the same passcard from your Sunday team. That’s how we make sure you didn’t forget to pay for the Wednesday league.
